In addition to hiking and volcano-viewing, Hawai‘i Volcanoes National Park offers talks by scientists, ranger led hikes and cultural activities year-round. The park is both a World Heritage Site and Biosphere Reserve. Be sure to stop by the Volcano Art Center Gallery, located in the historic 1877 Volcano House building, near the Kilauea Visitor Center. Inside find artwork and fine crafts inspired by the Kilauea region. The Volcano House Hotel, perched on the rim of Kilauea Caldera, is a perfect place to stop for food and gifts before or after exploring the park. RR & R

At the end of Pi‘i Mauna Drive is the Volcano Winery, the Big Island’s only commercial winery and tasting room is the southern most winery in the United States. Please be considerate when driving in this, and every, residential area.
